I love to combine textures, materials and colors to create unique and functional wearable art. It all begins on Shearing Day when my small herd of alpacas happily donate their fiber to be sorted, cleaned, spun, dyed, and knit, woven or felted into warm and useful items ranging from felted soap to scarves and shawls, puppets to ponchos, fringed hats and cozy rugs.
Forever Clean Soap was established by three women who met at the gym. As we pondered our retirements we started to walk and travel together. While taking our hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, our drive around Ireland and our trek to Alaska we brainstormed about making soap in small and/or large batches. We then experimented with recipes and methods using the most pleasing fragrances and colors. Now we are sharing our soaps, body butters and salt scrubs with others and we are having fun. Our production lab and warehouse consists of one of our kitchens and cellars in Vassalboro, Maine. Best of all we recently returned from our 84 mile walk on Hadrian’s Wallpath in England. Another fantastic adventure and our soap went with us. …and we can't leave out our bike trip across Prince Edward Island in August, 2018.
Dail is a self taught musician who began playing the guitar and singing at age 14. She writes all her own songs. Folk, blues and jazz styles are her favorites. She has produced 2 vocal/guitar CDs to date. Dail has been a player of the Native American flute for over 20 years and has thus far produced 7 flute CDs. Her flute music style is both traditional and contemporary. You will hear a hint of mellow blues and jazz in some of her pieces.
Dail continues to perform at many pow-wows and has been gifted the name "Dragonfly" by 3 elders. She is honored and deeply touched by this. Her Native American Heritage is Huron-Wendat-Micmac
She makes her living as a Nurse Practitioner and is also a Registered Maine Guide and truly enjoys being outdoors hiking, kayaking or biking. She loves playing her flutes in the woods and/or by a stream and letting the flute take her on a wonderful spiritual journey. It is her hope that you too will find a sense of peace and relaxation while listening to her music.
As a member of United Maine Craftsmen, Dail will vend her music at craft fairs during the summer, fall and winter. She also vends at some of the pow-wows.
Dail also performs at weddings and other social events and would be honored to perform for you.
Warmest Regards
Dail
